Driving Question: How do we as health care professionals deliver medical information to the Spanish speaking community. In this project, students will be doing a brief review of the origin of the romance languages and how it impacts medical terminology.
Students will also explore how Spanish can be used to bridge the gap between either medical professionals or professionals and patients should a communication barrier exist between English speakers and Spanish speakers. Students will present Spanish prefixes, suffixes and root words associated with certain systems of the body, and diseases or illnesses that are most common to patients.
