Lenaya Montoya
Governing Board Member
Ms. Montoya grew up in Magdalena, New Mexico, a small rural community where she first witnessed the lack of access to health providers and services. This motivated her to pursue a degree in addictions counseling and subsequently a degree in law, to improve rural access to necessary services. Ms. Montoya is currently a staff attorney for the New Mexico Legislative Council Service where her work focuses on drafting legislation for education, Native American affairs and behavioral health issues.
Ms. Montoya received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish with a concentration in basics in addictions counseling from the University of New Mexico and her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
